The first vice-president of Moscow Chess Federation Nikita Kim told Itar-Tass that Moscow plans to host one of FIDE Grand Prix stages in the nearest two years.

"We permanently negotiate with the representatives of FIDE, we have a very friendly relationship with them," the agency quotes Kim. "We appreciate what FIDE president Kirsan Ilyumzhinov does for popularisation of chess in the world, Russia and Moscow particularly. We plan to file an application for hosting the international tournament which will have a status of Grand Prix. Especially if taking into account that recently FIDE is focused on holding such events in the world capitals. Yet we don't know will that be men's or women's competitions."
