Chess-train will pass through five counties

Today, 10:00 MSK Time an unusual event named “chess-train” will start in Prague, Czech Republic. Five days open rapid chess tournament inside the train will proceed via Prague – Vienna – Budapest – Bratislava – Krakow – Prague.

The train consists of nine cars, each named after world champions: Lasker, Capablanca, Alekhine, Euwe, Botvinnik, Smyslov, Tal, Petrosian. Five carriages are designed for playing; while “Smyslov” is a restaurant car, “Petrosian” car offers to load your luggage there. 

The train will be leaving every morning. After arriving to the destination city the participants will have time to walk, have supper and/or enjoy the city with its attractions. 

The competition consists of fifteen rounds.

The project itself is unique in chess history.
