ETCC Women: Russia, Georgia lead and will compete tomorrow

The fourth round of the ETCC Women came to its end. Russia defeated Ukrainian players in an intense struggle. On the first board, Nadezhda Kosintseva – Ekaterina Lahno, Russian probably made a mistake in evaluating her position while playing the15th move which brought her problems soon after. Tatiana Kosintseva recouped her sister’s loss by winning over Natalia Zhukova. Valentina Gunina took an advantage over Inna Gaponenko, while Alexandra Kosteniuk’s draw against Mariya Muzychuk signed Russian team’s victory.

Georgia gained an easy win against Armenian team: Khurtsidze and Melia defeated Galojan and Aginian respectively, while Dzagnidze and Paikidze agreed to draw with Danielian and Mkrtchian.

Thereby, Russia and Georgia gathered 8/8 and will play against each other tomorrow.
