Russian-speaking American Grandmaster Maxim Dlugy.

Denied Queen's Gambit
1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nf3 d5 4.Nc3 Be7 5.Bf4 O-O 6.Rc1
a less-known but topical variant. A usual continuation is 6.e3.
6...c5 7.dxc5

A novelty! "I've prepared this variant for Kazan. I was going to play it there. That's interesting. It may close the variant with Rc1" - Kramnik. 7...Bxc5 has been used earlier.
8.e3 Rd8 9.Bd6 dxc4 10.Bxc4 Ne4
It's important not to be late to play that, noted Kramnik

At the press-conference Anand showed the following continuation 11...Nxc5 12.b4 Qxb4 13.Nd5 exd5 14.Bxe7 Nc6 15.Bxd5 Nxe7 16.Bxf7+ Kxf7 17.Qxd8 and he also added that as usual Vladimir is not going on that kind of positions.

The commentator of the official website Grandmaster Emil Sutovsky presented a move 11...Bxd6 and stood for the continuation 12.Nxe4 Bxh2+ 13.Kxh2 Rxd1 14.Rfxd1, but afterwards he discovered that Black have played in a completely different way.

12.cxd6 Bxd6
"I made a mistake and created some problems for myself. However, I managed to solve successfully. I knew that I had to play 12...Rxd6, I have analyzed that move, but during the game I decided to beat with the bishop" - Kramnik.
13.Qb3! Nc6 14.Rfd1 Be7 15.Be2 h6
Followed after a long consideration. После 15...Bd7 16.Qxb7 Rab8 17.Rxd7 Rxb7 18.Rxb7 "lead Black to an uncomfortable position, while White play without any risk" - Anand.
Kramnik suggested 16.h3!?.
16...Qb4 17.Qc2 Bd7 18.Nc4 Bf8!
"A sly move. After it I didn't see anything thrilling" - Anand.

19.a3 Qe7 20.Nd6 Be8
"Here I was already glad for there's not anything specific for White to get" - Kramnik.
21.Nxe8 Rxd1+ 22.Rxd1 Rxe8 23.Qb3 Rd8 24.Rxd8 Nxd8 25.Bf3 g6 26.Qa4 a6 27.g3 Bg7 28.Qc4 Qd7 29.Kg2 Be5 30.b4 Qc7 31.Qxc7 Bxc7 32.b5 axb5 33.Nxb5 Bb6 34.Nd6 Bc5 35.Nxb7 Nxb7 36.Bxb7 Bxa3 1/2-1/2

"The arbiters didn't object the draw. Sure we could make another four moves..." - Kramnik.
