Tigran Kotanjian Has Won an International Tournament in Beirut

There were 84 chess players in the fifth international tournament held in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. The first three places were taken by the three participating grandmasters. The Armenian grandmaster Tigran Kotanjian became the sole winner with 8 out of 9. Alexei Barsov from Uzbekistan ended up half a point behind. In the sole third place was Igor Rausis from Czech Republic with 7 points.

In the comparable tournament last year Barsov was first while Kotanjian was second.
