Azerbaijan chess Federation Vice-President Mahir Mammadov in his wide interview given to extratime az. said that he is sure that Armenian team will become one of the participants of the 2016 chess Olympiad which will take part in Baku.

"I am attentively reading various interviews that followed the Olympiad in Istanbul, which covered not only results of the Olympiad but also gave a glance on the General assembly and the Congress, says Mamedov. Some of them contain information related to the fact that Armenian chess players are not going to come to Baku. I am sorry to talk about this topic so often. First of all I would like to tell you that this is not a proved fact. By the time the Olympiad takes places the relations between our countries may change.

At the same time I do not quite understand, why tey are sorry for the Armenian team and are not at all sorry for the team of Azerbaijan who can take part in a competition which will take place in Armenia. Is it just because Armenia is the champion? Azerbaijan also has some chances to win and always has chances of winning team competitions of any level. We were European champions and won silver medals of continent competition.

In 2015 Armenia is holding world team championship but why is nobody interested in defending the rights of Azerbaijan team. Why is this care so selective? Is it because we do not like to act positively and prefer to complain. Personally I would like to say that I do hope Armenian team comes hereand will play in Baku. I would like everyone to be fair and honest towards both teams".
